1986: SUIL incorporated to manufacture fan components, branded fans

1988: SMPL incorporated to commence steel manufacturing activity

1989: Bearings & Castings Division set up with an Installed Capacity of 1.8 Million numbers.

1990: SMPL went public, with an IPO of Rs. 6.25 Million.

1990 - 98: Years of consolidation of the existing activities .

1995: Figured in "Business Standard 1000 Giants" ranked by net sales

1995: NCD issue raised by SMPL rated as BBB+ by CRISIL

1999: Modernisation of Re rolling mill

1999: ISO certification for SUIL Bearing Division

2000: Setting up of Towers Fabrication Division

2001: Modernisation / Upgradation of Rerolling Unit

2002: Introduction of Taper Roller Bearings and Cylindrical Roller Bearings

2004: Introduction of TMT

2004: Capacity expansion SUIL Casting Division

2005: ISO certification of SMPL Structural Steel Division

2005: Successful completion of 1st Global Depository Receipts (GDRS) issue in SUIL

2006: Sujana Steels commences commercial operations.

2006: The capacity of the Towers Division of SMPL expanded to 76,125 TPA

2007: Implementation of scheme of arrangement and amalgamation.

2007: Demerges of Towers Division of SMPL to Sujana Towers Limited.

2007: Merger of Sujana Steels Limited with SMPL.

2007: Successful completion of 2nd & 3rd Global Depository Receipts (GDRS) issue in SUIL.

2008: STL listed in National Stock Exchange of India Limited w.e.f:08.10.2008

2008: SUIL listed in National Stock Exchange of India Limited w.e.f: 19.02.2008

2008: Sujana Metal acquires 100% equity in Glade Steel Private Limited. Glade Steel has a TMT Rolling Mill steel ingots making facility with world class technology from Thermex, Germany.

2008: Acquisition of a heavy structural steel division, Visakhapatnam of Saritha Steel Industries Ltd This is now the Visakhapatnam division of SMPL.

2008: STL acquired 51% share holding in Telesuprecon Limited, a Mauritius based company, which undertakes telecom infra projects in Kenya, Zambia and Malawi.

2009: The capacity of the rolling mill at Glade Steel acquired by Sujana Metal was expanded to
75, 000 tonnes per annum. And the capacity of the ingot facility, at Sujana Metal's Shadnagar plant in Hyderabad was expanded to 50000 tonnes per annum. This facility is located at Shadnagar in Hyderabad.

2009: The capacity of the Vizag Division of Sujana Metal (heavy structural steel) was expanded to 180,000 tonnes per annum.

2009: Sujana Metal sets up SMPL Steel (ready to use, cut and bend steel) facility at Shadnagar in Hyderabad with the capacity of 60,000 tonnes per annum.

2009: Sujana Towers commences work on galvanized tower making facility at Khanapur, Hyderabad with the capacity of 72,000 tonnes per annum.

2009: Sujana Towers starts its Technological Structure Fabrication (TSF) facility at Bollaram in Hyderabad with the capacity of 6,000 tonnes per annum.

2009: Sujana Towers takes up expansion of the TSF facility from 6,000 tonnes to 30,000 tonnes per annum.

2009: STL entered into an exclusive manufacturing arrangement to manufacture power cables and conductors with a cable & conductor manufacturing unit at Patancheruvu, Hyderabad.

2009: Sujana Metal takes on lease the manufacturing plant of Ganga Steel Pvt. Limited at Gummudi Poondi, Chennai. This facility was revamped to manufacture TMT steel with the capacity of 60,000 tonnes per annum.

2009: TSF (Technological Structures Fabrication) Division of STL headed by Shri K.Raghavaiah, Director (Technical), was adjudged by the BHEL, Trichy, as the "Best Sub Contractor for the year 2008-09".Sujana Energy (P) Ltd incorporated for taking up power generation through renewable sources and for implementing energy saving projects.

2010: Sujana Towers Limited awarded with three prestigious orders for supply of about 16700 MT of 400 kV Transmission line towers, valued at Rs.148.38 Crores, by M/s. SPIC SMO & M/s. SEW Infrastructure Limited. Sujana Group set up Sujana School of Business. Sujana Energy Limited has entered into a technology partnership with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), under the latter's flagship program 'Lighting a billion lives' (LaBL) to provide clean and safe lighting through new models of solar lanterns aimed to bring light into the lives of one billion rural people by replacing the kerosene and paraffin lanterns with solar lighting devices. Sujana Energy Limited entered into strategic Partnership with the Japanese Company Nichia Corporation a pioneer and world leader in (blue and white) LEDs and the largest supplier of white LED's in the world to work together to explore opportunities in the field of LED Lighting and Display for the first time in India. SMPL Listed in National Stock Exchange of India Limited w.e.f:05.03.2010. Successful completion of Global Depository Receipts (GDRS) issue in SMPL and STL for USD 30 mn each and both are listed in Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

2011: Merger of Sriganga Steel, Glade Steel, Topaz Steel and Lakshmi Gayathri Steel with Sujana Metal Products Limited (under Process).

2011: Merger of Vijay Home Appliances, EBC bearings and other small companies with SUIL (under process).

2011: Sujana Foundation, a Division of Sujana Charitable Trust - as a corporate social responsibility initiative.
